Early Bird tickets for Kita Food Festival on sale from Wednesday (31/7) at 3pm

That’s right folks, first dibs on Kita Food Festival 2024: KL Weekender tickets are available to Kita subscribers from Wednesday 3pm for 24 golden hours. And there’s plenty to look forward to.

For five feast-centric days between 4 to 8 September, Kita Food Festival will be hosting a range of food-laden events, from fine dining dinners to easy-on-the wallet fun and slightly crazy casual cook ups. Just don’t forget to leave room for the Big Sunday Barbecue- the family and friends fun fest of the year.

Dinners

Jimmy Ophorst (PRU, Phuket) x Masashi Horiuchi (Potager, KL) at Potager

4 & 5 September

Dutch chef Jimmy Ophorst from one Michelin starred PRU will be sharing the pans with Masashi Horiuchi at Potager with farm-to-table values a leading principle.


 

Ben Devlin (Pipit, Pottsville) at Yellow Fin Horse, Else Kuala Lumpur

5 & 6 September

Australian chef Ben Devlin, whose restaurant recently nabbed a finalist listing as Regional Restaurant of the Year, will be meddling Australian bush foods with Malaysian grown produce at Yellow Fin Horse.


 

Johnson Ebenezer (Farmlore, Bangalore) x Shaun Ng (Hide KL) at Hide KL

5 & 6 September

Bangalore superstar Johnson Ebenezer will join hands with Shaun Ng for a culinary journey around Malaysia; a lavish degustation menu with each course showcasing an ingredient or producer from across the nation.


 

Prin Polsuk (Samrub Samrub Thai, Bangkok) at Raw, Else Kuala Lumpur

6 September

One Michelin starred Thai maven Prin Polsuk will present Southern Thai fishermen cuisine; a sharing platter-style menu reflecting the diversity of the fishing communities from the Gulf of Thailand at Raw, Else Kuala Lumpur.


 

Louis Tikaram (Stanley, Brisbane) at Fifty Tales

6 & 7 September

A bit Fijian, a bit Cantonese and a whole lot Australian, Brisbane’s chef of the moment Louis Tikaram will be bringing his moreish Modern Chinese comfort food to Fifty Tales. 


 

Hans Christian (August, Jakarta) x Aidan Low (Akâr Dining, KL) at Akâr Dining

6 & 7 September

Indonesian chef of-the-moment Hans Christian will join with Aidan Low to present a study of New Nusantara cuisine and the shared flavours and cooking techniques from the Malaysian and Indonesian archipelago. 



 


 

Christophe Lerouy (Lerouy, Singapore) X Masashi Horiuchi (Entier, KL) at Entier

7 September

One Michelin starred French chef Christophe Lerouy from Lerouy in Singapore will team up with Masashi Horiuchi for one night at Entier. What to expect? Haute cuisine, of course.

 

A Food Affair

A full-day of food events, including masterclasses on food, cooking and wine, talks, panel discussions and a vibrant artisanal marketplace. An evolution of Kita Conversations, this year A Food Affair widens its audience base to cater to not only the F&B industry, but food lovers too.

Masterclasses will include:

  • French wine and cheese tasting by resident KL oenophile and wine expert, Wong Yin How of Vintry
  • Nose-to-tail: Butchering a whole goat and getting the most out of every part by Pete Smit of Dirty Supper in Singapore
  • Internet star Sherson Lian teaches tricks and tips on how to save time cooking (what used to be) time consuming dishes.

Tickets will go on sale on 31 July for Kita subscribers; 1 August for the general public.

Back for its fourth year, Kita presents the pitmasters and personalities of the Big Sunday Barbecue, the quintessentially casual, smoky, and ever-so-tasty hallmark of Kita Food Festival.

There will be four teams cooking up a storm over the barbie: 

  • Dirty Supper (Singapore) x Ignis (Kuala Lumpur)
  • Au Jardin (Penang) x Dewakan (Kuala Lumpur)
  • Noon (India) x Nadodi (Kuala Lumpur)
  • Home cook internet sensation Anis Nabilah x SAJ Bistronomy by Leen’s (Kuala Lumpur)

Tickets will go on sale on 31 July for Kita subscribers; 1 August for the general public.
