Cocktails, Cuisine, and Nature’s Bounty: KK Weekender Highlights

There will be food a plenty during our Weekender in Kota Kinabalu from Nov 8-10. Here’s some of the highlights:
COCKTAIL EVENING
First up, Sunset Sips: A Cocktail Soirée on Nov 8 at ON23 Skybar, Hyatt Centric. Here, three of KK’s best bartenders– Steve Stephen of ON23 Sky Bar at Hyatt Centric, Junior Rizal Utto of Flips, and Osmund Bernard of Mari Drinks, will be working together to pump out three stellar cocktails, including Lihing Sour using a local rice wine, Latok Gimlet which reinvents the classical gimlet with seaweed, and last not least a Sandakan Sling.
A selection of tasty bites by Oliver Truesdale-Jutras of Re:Growth, Singapore and Ho Jun Yip of Hyatt Centric will also be served to complement these creative concoctions.

FOUR-HANDS BRUNCH
Jakarta-born chef and owner of Locavore NXT in Bali (the incarnation from accolade laden Locavore), Ray Adriansyah will be firing up the burners at Limau & Linen with local shooting star Linn Yong. Together, they promise to bring you a laid-back brunch- or lunch- session, serving a selection of dishes that showcase bold-flavours and the best of Sabahan ingredients.

Up and coming Malaysian chefs Aidan Low of Akâr Dining in Kuala Lumpur (Michelin Select 2024; #1, Tatler Best Restaurants 2024) and Raphael Peter Lee of Oitom in Kota Kinabalu (Tatler Best 100 Restaurants 2024) will unite to craft an exclusive degustation dinner for November 9. Expect an elevated culinary experience paying tribute to Sabah’s rich bounty of endemic ingredients while pushing the boundaries of modern Malaysian cuisine.
