Prin Polsuk is one of Asia’s most prominent in-the-moment chefs. His distinctly feisty cooking teamed with a down-to-earth approach, part of the vanguard of Thai chefs that have made Bangkok the cool kid on the international culinary trail. His restaurant, Samrub Samrub Thai, has a Michelin star and ranked #31 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list.
For one night, Prin will be taking to the pans at Raw on the ground floor of Else Kuala Lumpur. For dinner? Seafood. Specifically Southern Thai fisherman cuisine; an exploratory menu which not only showcases bold, punchy flavours Prin is renowned for, but narrates the diverse, community-driven cuisine of the island people of the Southern Thai gulf.
Prin is the protege of David Thompson, best known as the world authority on Thai cuisine, and helped lead David’s then restaurants Nahm in London and then Bangkok when they got Michelin stars. At Samrub Samrub Thai, Prin has earned acclaim for his meticulous reproduction of regional Thai recipes. He is renowned for his dedication to uncovering “under the radar” ingredients from local communities, which he showcases, revalues, and revives at his restaurant, creating a truly unique and authentic dining experience.
